Guardian angels tatoos
Guardian angel tattoos have long been a part of the lore and history of Roman Catholicism and even many protestant believers. Thus they have become very popular through European countries and America. They can make a great tattoo if you want to express something about your personal spirituality. They can also work very well as a memorial or in loving memory tattoo as well. If you have been contemplating getting a guardian angel tattoo read on to learn more about them. You will learn some of the historical significance of them, some common representations, and also some ideas for placement.
History
Guardian angels appear throughout the bible and typically they are seen as a link between God and humans. It is believed that guardian angels are assigned or responsible for a person. They are there to help protect and guide a person throughout their life. You can see many instances of this in the bible and even more so in popular lore and stories about angels.
Guardian Angel Tattoos Styles
There are a variety of different styles of tattoos and ways to design or represent a guardian angel. One of the most popular of course is the cherub child like angel that is typically cute and impish. The most famous depiction of cherubs is probably the Sistine Madonna painted by by Raphael. This image has been placed on teeshirts, mugs, and reproductions to hang in your living room. It is also a very common representation for a guardian angel tattoo.
Some people might decide to take a little different route and do something a little more unique with the depiction of their guardian angel. For example some like to make their guardian angel look thought and menacing which makes for a great guy tattoo. Maybe he is we idling a sword and has armor on. Another idea that people will often choose is instead of getting a complete angel depicted as a figure they get little angel wings instead. Read more…
